All right, I’ve got a couple things for you today…

First of all, let me just say this: Go see James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. If you liked the first film at all, you’ll love this one too. It’s every bit as over-the-top, outrageous, and ridiculous as the original, and you’ll laugh the whole way through. I really think that for sheer originality and fun, Guardians is my pick for the crown jewel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Much like Deadpool, it doesn’t ever really take itself seriously, but it has a ton of heart. It’s highly recommended.

Also, here at the site today, we’ve updated the Release Dates & Artwork section to include all the latest Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. All right, for those of you who might be interested, I’ve posted a review of the new Heat: Director’s Definitive Edition Blu-ray from 20th Century Fox. In a nutshell, the picture and sound are substantially upgraded, all the extras carry over from past BD and DVD editions, and there’s an hour of new content too. It’s well worth the $8 it’ll cost you to upgrade on Amazon right now, should you so choose (and you should).

Keeping the Spirit of Wonder Woman

Keeping the essence of Diana Prince was the ultimate goal, according to Wonder Woman producer Geoff Johns and director Patty Jenkins.

They spoke about their passion for the character at the film’s recent WonderCon presentation. Jenkins said a superhero’s origin story is a great way for a child to connect with characters. Wonder Woman is one of the biggest and best-known superheroes but movie goers have never seen her origin story.
