First of all, Tim has checked out a 1968 film from Sydney Pollack in Kino’s The Scalphunters. I’ve also updated and ported over (from the original Bits site) my own review of review of Fritz Lang’s science fiction classic Metropolis (1927) as released, restored and at long last complete, on Blu-ray by Kino in 2010. Now then, here’s a few more new title announcements to close out the week...
The first bit of big news today is that StarVista Entertainment and Time Life have officially announced The Wonder Years: The Complete Series on DVD. The 26-disc set will come packaged in a replica of a high school locker and will include a specially-designed yearbook, magnets, cast and crew liner notes and more. Just a quick one today with a few more new title announcements. First though, it looks like more media outlets have picked up our Warner/Amazon story today, including Wired. Fascinating how this is going viral.
Now then... in announcement news today, 20th Century Fox has set Dom Hemingway (starring Jude Law) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 7/22.
Kino Lorber has announced new catalog Blu-rays for August, including Mr. Majestyk (1974), The Children’s Hour (1961), The Unforgiven (1960), and Breakheart Pass (1975) on 8/12, and The Party (1968), Cast a Giant Shadow (1966), On the Beach (1959), and What’s New Pussycat?
