Speaking of Shout! and Scream Factory, they’ve just officially announced the Blu-ray release of Paul Schrader’s Cat People: Collector’s Edition and Daniel Haller’s Die Monster Die! on 1/21/14! SRP is $29.93 for Cat People, which includes new interviews with Schrader, Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell, John Heard, Annette O’Toole , Lynn Lowry and composer Giorgio Moroder, a still gallery, the theatrical trailer and a TV spot. Meanwhile, Die Monster Die! (SRP $19.97) appears to be movie only. You’ll find the cover art below.
Speaking of Warner Archive, they’ve just revealed a number of new titles for release on MOD DVD this week, including the TV titles Sugarfoot: The Complete Second Season (1958-59) and Alice: The Complete Fourth Season (1979-80), new Paramount Playhouse titles including The Rose Tattoo (1955), The Matchmaker (1958), This Property Is Condemned (1966), First Monday in October (1981) and Shirley Valentine (1989), and the HBO title An Apology to Elephants (2013).
Finally, we have complete details on the extras you’ll find on CBS’s Star Trek: Enterprise – Season Three on Blu-ray (due 1/7/14). You’ll get all-new extras including the 3-part In a Time of War documentary (including Part One: Call to Arms, Part Two: Front Lines and Part Three: Final Conflict) and the Temporal Cold War: Declassified documentary, both in HD. All-new-to-disc audio commentaries will include David Livingston and David A. Goodman (on Impulse), Mike Sussman and Tim Gaskill (on Twilight – this was available as a downloadable podcast in 2008), David A. Goodman and Chris Black (on North Star), Manny Coto and Connor Trinneer (on Similitude), David A. Goodman, Chris Black and Connor Trinneer (on The Forgotten) and Chris Black and André Bormanis (on Countdown). That’s in addition to the previous DVD audio commentaries, which include Mike DeMeritt (on North Star) and Manny Coto (on Similitude), as well as the text commentaries by Michael Okuda and Denise Okuda (on The Xindi, Impulse and Countdown). You’ll also get all the previous DVD extras including 6 deleted scenes (from Similitude, Chosen Realm and E²), the outtakes reel, all 4 behind-the-scenes featurettes (including The Xindi Saga Begins, Enterprise Moments: Season Three, Enterprise Profile: Connor Trinneer and A Day in the Life of a Director: Roxann Dawson), both of the Best Buy-exclusive bonus featurettes (Shooting Behind the Camera: Marvin Rush and Enterprise Secrets), the production photo gallery and all 3 NX-01 File Easter egg featurettes. Man, I can’t wait to see those new documentaries and listen to all those new audio commentaries. Season Three was when this show really started getting good, so for me it’s a real treat to have all that new material.
