Get Out, A United Kingdom, South Park: S20, Kino Lorber’s Sheik/Son of the Sheik & more
We’ve got more release news for you today, so let’s get right into it...
Universal has officially set Jordan Peele’s horror film Get Out for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/23. We hear it’s pretty damn great. Extras are going to include audio commentary with writer/director Jordan Peele, deleted scenes and an alternate ending also with director’s commentary, and 2 featurettes (Unveiling the Horror of Get Out and Q&A Discussion with Writer/Director Jordan Peele and the Cast).
20th Century Fox has set A United Kingdom for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/6, with the Digital HD version due on 5/23. Extras will include 4 featurettes (The Making of A United Kingdom, Filming in Botswana, The Legacy of Seretse and Ruth, and London Film Festival Opening Night Gala Premiere).
Fox has also added new MOD DVD titles to their Fox Cinema Archives vault, including Sailor of the King (1953), Sea Wife (1957), Murder, Inc. (1960), Move Over, Darling (1963), Back Door to Hell (1964), and Convict Stage (1965). And on the TV front, Fox will release Damien and Queen of the South on DVD only on 6/6. [Read on here…]

La La Land official, plus Pink Panther Collection, new Kino titles & TONS of Shout/Scream BD art
In announcement news today, Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate have just officially announced the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Damien Chazelle’s almost Best Picture La La Land on 4/24. The Digital HD release is due on 4/11. It looks like the disc will actually include a nice batch of extras, starting with an audio commentary by Chazelle and composer Justin Hurwitz. You’ll also get 11 behind-the-scenes featurettes (Another Day of Sun: They Closed Down a Freeway, La La Land’s Great Party, Ryan Gosling: Piano Student, Before Whiplash: Damien Chazelle’s Passion Project, La La Land’s Love Letter to Los Angeles, The Music of La La Land, John Legend’s Acting Debut, The Look of Love: Designing La La Land, Ryan and Emma: Third Time’s the Charm, Epilogue: The Romance of the Dream, and Damien & Justin Sing: The Demos) and a song selection option. Tim Salmons has turned in his look at Scream Factory’s The Legend of Hell House and longtime Bits veteran Todd Doogan has returned with a look at Kino Lorber’s terrific new One Million Years B.C. Blu-ray. Both are well worth your time, so be sure to check them out.
In release news today, first up a biggie: 20th Century Fox’s Logan is now available for Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD pre-order on Amazon (via the links in this sentence and also the temp cover artwork below). We’ve got some good announcement news to report today, a mix of new and catalog releases.
First up, Lionsgate has officially set Blair Witch for release on Blu-ray Combo, DVD, and Digital HD on 1/3/17 (SRP $39.99 and $29.95 for the discs). Extras will include audio commentary with director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, the House of Horrors: Exploring the Set featurette, and the 6-part Never Ending Night: The Making of Blair Witch documentary (includes Primal Fear: Story Origins, Ambiguous Loss: The Cast, P.O.V.: On Location, Trapped in the Time Loop: Editing, Distorted Reality: Music and Sound Design, and The Reveal).
