Now then… we’ve got some announcement news for you today as well…
Lionsgate is taking the sci-fi sequel Beyond Skyline straight to Blu-ray and DVD on 1/16, bypassing any theatrical release. The studio also has The Killing of a Sacred Deer coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23.
20th Century Fox will release Goodbye Christopher Robin on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23.
Universal has set A Bad Mom’s Christmas and The Stray for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/6, followed by Midnight, Texas: Season One on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/20.
Our friends at Scream Factory have set Gate II for Blu-ray release on 2/20, followed by The Strangers: Collector’s Edition on 3/6, Larry Cohen’s The Ambulance (1990) on 3/13, Nico Mastorakis’ Nightmare at Noon on 3/20, and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon – Collector’s Edition on 3/27.
PBS will release Victoria (Masterpiece): The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/30.
Well Go USA has set Jason Kwan’s Chasing the Dragon, starring Donnie Yen and Andy Lau, for Blu-ray release on 1/23.
Scorpion Releasing has set Dario Argento’s The Church on Blu-ray on 3/20.
And BBC Home Entertainment will release Doctor Who: The Complete Peter Capaldi Years on Blu-ray on 2/13, followed by Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/20.
Finally today, on the 4K front, we have word that Paramount is preparing Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life for release on 4K Ultra HD in February or March, no doubt tied to the theatrical release of their new Tomb Raider (2018) feature film. We also now believe that Disney’s The Prestige is exclusive to Warner’s Christopher Nolan Collection until early 2018 at least. We’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly.
