All right, we’ve been very busy here at The Bits working on new reviews and other content, and all in the midst of some crazy weather in SoCal – we have high winds and wildfires all around. If you live in the area, please stay safe.

In any case, we’ve got some good stuff for you to read here at The Bits today…

First, our own Michael Coate has just turned in a new retrospective interview celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s Dracula from director Francis Ford Coppola, which we recently reviewed in 4K Ultra HD. Michael has also posted a 55th anniversary retrospective looking back at the James Bond film that started it all, Dr. No. You’ll find both of those in History, Legacy & Showmanship right now and we hope you enjoy them. Meanwhile, we have several new Blu-ray reviews for you too from Tim Salmons, including his thoughts on Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series from CBS, the Silent Night, Deadly Night: Collector’s Edition from Scream Factory, Property Is No Longer a Theft from Arrow Academy, and Satan’s Cheerleaders from VCI Entertainment. These are worth a look – especially Tim’s in-depth Twin Peaks review. So do check them out.

Also today, our own Russell Hammond has posted the weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section with all of the latest Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. As always, please click through any one of our Amazon links whenever you order literally anything from Amazon – we appreciate it very much!

Now then… we’ve got some announcement news for you today as well…

Lionsgate is taking the sci-fi sequel Beyond Skyline straight to Blu-ray and DVD on 1/16, bypassing any theatrical release. The studio also has The Killing of a Sacred Deer coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23.

20th Century Fox will release Goodbye Christopher Robin on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23.

Universal has set A Bad Mom’s Christmas and The Stray for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/6, followed by Midnight, Texas: Season One on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/20.

Our friends at Scream Factory have set Gate II for Blu-ray release on 2/20, followed by The Strangers: Collector’s Edition on 3/6, Larry Cohen’s The Ambulance (1990) on 3/13, Nico Mastorakis’ Nightmare at Noon on 3/20, and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon – Collector’s Edition on 3/27.

PBS will release Victoria (Masterpiece): The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/30.

Well Go USA has set Jason Kwan’s Chasing the Dragon, starring Donnie Yen and Andy Lau, for Blu-ray release on 1/23.

Scorpion Releasing has set Dario Argento’s The Church on Blu-ray on 3/20.

And BBC Home Entertainment will release Doctor Who: The Complete Peter Capaldi Years on Blu-ray on 2/13, followed by Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/20.

Finally today, on the 4K front, we have word that Paramount is preparing Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life for release on 4K Ultra HD in February or March, no doubt tied to the theatrical release of their new Tomb Raider (2018) feature film. We also now believe that Disney’s The Prestige is exclusive to Warner’s Christopher Nolan Collection until early 2018 at least. We’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly.

Back tomorrow with more. Stay tuned…
