Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed an alarming increase in the number of MOD titles that are simply re-releases of out-of-print discs and a decrease in the number of never-before-released movies. We’re probably going to be seeing a lot more of that, unfortunately. But at least this week, there are a few brand new Most Wanted picks making their overdue DVD debuts. Here’s a surprise. The long dormant MGM Limited Edition Collection has announced that they’ll soon be manufacturing on demand again. Their initial line-up is scheduled to arrive next week and I’ll be taking a look at those titles then. Before you get too excited, almost all of the titles in this first wave are previously released out-of-print movies. At least it’s something, though, and hopefully we’ll start seeing some more obscurities making their disc debuts from MGM soon.
