Scream sets Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn for Blu-ray 3D, plus Magicians, Elvis & Nixon & more

All right, just so you guys know, it’s my intention to review ID4, The Martian: Extended Edition, Star Trek, and Star Trek Into Darkness on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format as soon as review product comes in, but 4K product has been running a little late. Rest assured, though, I’ll get to them as soon as possible and to other titles as time permits.

Meanwhile today, our own Tim Salmons has checked in with a rare DVD review this week, featuring Shout! Factory’s recent re-issue of Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume Two on good old standard-def format.  [Read on here…]

In announcement news today, Starz and Anchor Bay have set The Dresser, starring Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins, for DVD and Digital HD release only on 7/12.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set the comedy The Bronze for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD release on 8/2. The films stars Melissa Rauch from The Big Bang Theory.

Sony has also set Elvis & Nixon for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on 7/19, starring Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey.

And Syfy and Universal have set The Magicians: Season One for Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on 7/19 as well.

Finally, Scream Factory has just announced that they’re working on a new Blu-ray 3D Combo edition of Charles Band’s Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983) for release on 9/13.
