Warner Archive’s June includes Letty Lynton, Start the Revolution Without Me & Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, plus new Shout! titles, The Office: Extended & more!

If you’re seeing this, it’s a good sign that we’re making progress in stabilizing the site in the face of relentless efforts by AI companies to scrape our content.

Fingers crossed, we’re getting a handle on this. Chalk it up to a problem none of us foresaw thirty twenty-eight years ago when we started this website.

All right, we do have some good 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray announcements for you today, so let’s get right into it…

First, our friends at the Warner Archive Collection have just unveiled their June slate of deep catalog Blu-ray classics, which is set to include Clarence Brown’s Letty Lynton (1932), W.S. Van Dyke’s Rose-Marie (1936), Frank Borzage’s Strange Cargo (1940), Clarence Brown’s Come Live with Me (1941), Mervyn LeRoy’s Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944), Michael Curtiz’s Night and Day (1946), Frank Perry’s Last Summer (1969), Hanna-Barbera’s Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machine: The Complete Series (1969-70), Bud Yorkin’s Start the Revolution Without Me (1970), and Roger Vadim’s Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971). The street date for all of these is 6/30.

Keep in mind, the Warner Archive also has a number of great 4K catalog titles coming, which we expect to be announced in the next few months. [Read on here...]

While we’re talking Warner Bros., the studio’s forthcoming Mars Attacks! 4K Ultra HD release is now available for pre-order on Amazon and elsewhere. Right now, the 4K Steelbook is up on Amazon (here’s the link) but there should be a wide-release SKU as well. The street date is TBA, but we expect it to be sometime in July.

Also, the studio is now taking pre-orders on the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of Mortal Kombat II (2026) as well as a double feature of that with Mortal Kombat (2021). The street date is TBA.

And from Warner’s Adult Swim, look for Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal: The Complete Third Season (2026) on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/30.

Here’s something interesting: Severin Films is getting ready to release a couple of nuclear war films in 4K Ultra HD on 7/28, including Mick Jackson’s Threads (1984) and Peter Watkins’ BBC documentary The War Game (1965).

Shout! Factory has announced a pair of great kung fu and wuxia Blu-ray box sets for release on 7/18, including…

The Ti Lung / David Chiang Collection – Have Sword, Will Travel (1969), The Heroic Ones (1970), Vengeance! (1970), The Anonymous Heroes (1971), The Deadly Duo (1971), Duel of Fists (1971), The Duel (1971), The Angry Guest (1972), All Men Are Brothers (1975), The Blood Brothers (1973), The Savage 5 (1974), and 7 Man Army (1976)

The Brave Archer Collection – The Brave Archer (1977), The Brave Archer 2 (1978), The Brave Archer 3 (1981), The Brave Archer and His Mate (1982), and Little Dragon Maiden (1983).

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that they’re working on a great new 3-film collection for 4K Ultra HD release in August: Italo-Crime! It’ll include director Alberto De Martino’s The Counsellor (1973) and Blazing Magnum (1976), as well as Mario Caiano’s Weapons of Death (1977). Note that these will be 4K SDR, and the street date is TBA.

The folks at Second Sight in the UK have just teased that they’ve acquitted the rights to release Mary Bronstein’s If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD. Watch for further details soon.

And Universal has just set The Office: The Complete Series – Superfan Extended Episodes for release on Blu-ray on 7/14. The set will collectively include an additional 25 hours of content added to the original broadcast episodes.

There’s an interesting Kickstarter going that some of you want to check out: Classic animation fans Mauricio Alvarado and Brandon Adams are working on a new silent film Blu-ray called Silent Cartoon All Stars: Volume 1. It will include 20 shorts from the silent author featuring Winsor McCay’s Gertie the Dinosaur, Disney’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Felix the Cat, Koko the Clown, and other classic characters. You’ll find that here.
