We’ve got quite a bit of ground to cover here at The Bits today to wind down the week, starting with a pair of new disc reviews...

Tim has offered his thoughts on Russell Mulcahy’s Razorback (1984) on Blu-ray from Scream Factory.

And Dennis has taken a look at Cecile B. DeMille’s The Crusades (1935) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

As always, lots more new disc reviews are on the way next week, so be sure to check back for them.

Now then, we’ve got quite a lot of great new 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release news to report today, starting with our friends at The Criterion Collection, who have just announced their July slate. [Read on here...]

Look for it to include Cheryl Dunye’s The Watermelon Woman (1996) (Spine #1184 – Blu-ray) and Martin Scorsese’s After Hours (1985) (Spine #1185 – 4K UHD & Blu-ray Combo and Blu-ray) on 7/11, an upgrade of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless (1960) (Spine #408 – 4K UHD) and The Ranown Westerns: Five Films Directed by Budd Boetticher box set (1957-1960) (Spine #1186 – 4K UHD & Blu-ray Combo) on 7/18, and Carl Franklin’s One False Move (1992) (Spine #1187 – 4K UHD & Blu-ray and Blu-ray) on 7/25. Most of the 4K titles will include Dolby Vision HDR. You can see the cover art below and you can find more detail on these titles here.

Arrow has also announced a new UK-only 4K Ultra HD collection called Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest, which includes The Big Boss (1971), The Big Boss: Mandarin Cut (1971), Fist of Fury (1972), The Way of the Dragon (1972), and Game of Death (1978) in 4K Ultra HD, along with Blu-ray versions of the Game of Death: Hong Kong Cut (1978), Enter the Dragon (1973), Game of Death II (1981), Bruce Lee: The Man & The Legend (1973), and Bruce Lee, The Legend (1984). This is available in a wide-release version as well as an Arrow web store exclusive (available here).

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has just announced that their long-anticipated 4K Ultra HD release of John Frankenheimer’s The Manchurian Candidate (1962) with Dolby Vision HDR.

And we have retailer-confirmed street dates for a number of upcoming catalog titles, including Universal’s Jaws 2 (1978) on 7/4 as well as Battlestar Galactica (1978) and Duel (1971) on 7/11. Also coming from Paramount is The Truman Show (1998) on 7/4.
