Hope you’re all enjoying the long Memorial Day weekend, folks—at least those of you who live here in the States!

And for the rest of you around the world, I hope your work week has gotten off to a good start.

I’ve got four pieces of 4K Ultra HD catalog news to share with you today, and I think most of you disc fans out there are going to very happy about each of them.

The first is a tease about an upcoming title, and this is one I’m very pleased to say is not only coming, but it’s yet another film we love here at The Bits and have long been looking forward to for a long time. It’s also a film that spaceflight fans appreciate, so they’ll be happy too…

Philip Kaufman’s The Right Stuff (1983) is coming to 4K Ultra HD in 2026!

We expect it to be released on disc right around the end of the year, and we’ll share more details when the time is right.

But for now, suffice it to say that this is yet another great Warner Bros. catalog title that’s finally coming to the 4K format. And there are going to be a lot of those to talk about in the next 12-24 months, so start saving your money now, disc fans! [Read on here...]

The second piece of news today is another Warner Bros. catalog title that’s coming to 4K, and this is one I first revealed on social media (and on our Digital Bits Patreon page) several months ago…

Fred M. Wilcox’s Forbidden Planet (1956) is coming to 4K Ultra HD this year (and probably sooner than later)!

That’s a landmark classic of the science fiction genre, and one of the first Hollywood studio films to treat the genre more seriously than a “B” project.

Now then… item three: I’ve confirmed that Lionsgate is officially replicating a second run of 4,000 units of the Amazon-exclusive Stallone Rambo 4K Ultra HD Collection, the first run of which sold out very quickly on the site.

Pre-orders will go live on Amazon on 5/26 (that’s TOMORROW), and the set will street on 8/4. Just so you’re all aware—please plan accordingly, because these units are likely to sell out quickly as well! Here’s the link (click here) and here’s the cover artwork…

You may also have seen (in our last update here on The Bits from last week) that David Twohy’s The Arrival (1996) has been announced for 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray as a Vestron Video Collector’s Series title by Lionsgate for release on 6/16—that’s a title we first revealed on our Patreon page over a month ago.

And speaking of Lionsgate, we first reported here many months ago (early last year in fact) that Lionsgate was eventually going be releasing Quentin Tarantino’s long-awaited Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray.

Well, this is item four: That “eventually” is this July… and the official announcement is happening tomorrow. So fans of the film may wish to keep their eyes peeled on the Lionsgate Limited website over the next twenty-four hours or so. Word is there’s even going to be a VHS SKU—no kidding!

The wait is almost over, QT fans!

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in 4K UHD

All right, back with more tomorrow (and with those Kill Bill details as soon as the announcement is live).

Stay tuned!
