We’ve got one quick new Blu-ray review to share with you today. Stephen has given Tim Mielants’ Patrick (2019) a look on Region B Blu-ray, a disc that’s newly available from Anti-Worlds Releasing in the UK. You’ll find that here.

In terms of announcement news today, Sony has just officially set Heavy Metal for release on 4K Ultra HD on 4/19 in special Steelbook packaging. The release includes the original Heavy Metal remastered in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision HDR and now with a new Dolby Atmos soundtrack, both reviewed and approved by producer Ivan Reitman. You’ll also get the previous 5.1 mix as well as the original 1981 theatrical Dolby Stereo audio.

The 4K disc will also include the new Heavy Metal: A Look Back retrospective featurette. The package also includes Heavy Metal and its sequel Heavy Metal 2000 on Blu-ray Disc, each with its previous special features. And you’ll get a Digital code as well. You can see the cover artwork at right and also below. [Read on here...]

Also, Paramount’s Scream (2022) is now available for pre-order on Amazon in Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD. No street date is listed, but based on retail sources we expect it to arrive in stores on 4/5. Look for Blu-ray and 4K versions of a Scream 2-Movie Collection to street that same day.

Meanwhile, Amazon is now taking pre-orders on Paramount’s new Jackass Forever on Blu-ray and DVD. No street date is yet listed, but the official date is expected to be 4/5 or 4/12.

The BBC will release Doctor Who: Tom Baker Complete Season Six on Blu-ray on 5/10.

Vinegar Syndrome’s Blu-ray release of Drop Dead Fred will arrive on 3/29.

And Universal has set Chucky: Season One for release on Blu-ray on 4/12.

Finally today, we have a quick replacement disc update. As many of you know, Criterion is now shipping their Blu-ray replacement discs for Citizen Kane. Kino Lorber Studio Classics is also now shipping 4K replacement discs for Hard Target. And Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is expecting to have Mad Max 2 4K replacement discs available at the end of February.

Now then, there are a bunch of new Blu-ray and 4K titles available for pre-order on Amazon so I thought we’d share a bunch of cover artwork and links today to close out the week. Just click on each one to visit Amazon’s pre-order page if available (and know that you will get the sale price once it kicks in if it hasn’t already)...
