We have it on good authority that Scream Factory’s forthcoming The Hills Run Red Blu-ray (currently due 6/16) is going to be loaded with nearly four hours of extras, almost all of them newly curated by director Dave Parker and producer Robert Meyer Burnett. All of the previous DVD extras will carry over too.
Speaking of Scream, the Tales from the Darkside: The Movie – Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is now set to street on 8/11.
Shout! Factory has also added the World War II film Resistance for Blu-ray release on 7/21.

Also today, our friends over at Media Play News have just announced the winners of their annual Home Media Awards. I was honored once again to serve as a judge for the awards. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood earned the top price, winning both Title of the Year and Best Theatrical Home Release. Blu-ray Disc of the Year went to Lionsgate’s Apocalypse Now: Final Cut, which also won Best Catalog Home Release and Best Box Art. HBO’s Game of Thrones: The Complete Series won TV on Disc of the Year and Best Packaging. And Fan-Favorite Title of the Year went to Fox’s Alita: Battle Angel. This is part of a first look piece at Vanity Fair that’s worth your time. And as a fan of the original Frank Herbert, one of the great epics of science fiction literature, all I can say based upon those two images is that I find them VERY encouraging. I can’t wait for this film.
