Kingsman: The Golden Circle on 12/12, plus Colossus: Forbin Project BD, Dark Crystal & Big Lebowski in 4K
We’ve got some more Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release news for you today...
To start… 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just officially announced Kingsman: The Golden Circle for release on all three disc formats on 12/12, confirming information we’ve posted based on retail sources. Extras on both Blu-ray versions will include the 9-part Kingsman: Inside the Golden Circle documentary (which includes Distilling the Story: Kingsman Returns, Trafficker, Tailor, Southerner, Spy, Poppy’s Special Guest: Elton John, Nefarious Lairs & High-Falutin’ Headquarters, Suited and Booted, Weapons of Choice, Brothers in Arms, Doomsday Protocol: Visual Effects, and End Game), the Black Cab Chaos: Anatomy of a Killer Chase featurette, and the Kingsman Archives gallery of concept art and still photos. Note that the 4K disc will also include Dolby Atmos audio. That same day, you’ll also be able to get the Kingsman: 2-Movie Collection on both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, which will package The Golden Circle with Kingman: The Secret Service. Should Kino release The Good, The Bad & The Ugly in 4K Ultra HD? You can let them know!
Yes, it’s true: Our friends at Kino Lorber are seriously considering the release of Sergio Leone’s The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on 4K Ultra HD in 2018, and they’re running a poll to ask for your opinion on the idea. Click this link to visit their page on Facebook and respond with a like for yes or an angry face for no. You can see what the cover artwork might look like there on the left.

Disney talked to Fox about (maybe) buying the studio, plus more 4K news/art & a Kino Lorber update
All right, I’m sure some of you saw our Saturday post here at The Bits, in which we revealed the cover artwork for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar in 4K from Paramount, as well as all three of his Dark Knight films in 4K from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. We also revealed a bunch of new an upcoming 4K Ultra HD titles from almost all of the major studios. You’ll find that post here in the event you missed it.

Interstellar Hits 4K Ultra HD in December & More Surprising 4K Titles on the Way
All right, we’ve got a rare Saturday post for you here at The Bits with your very first look at some great new 4K cover artwork, as well as word on a number of surprising new 4K Ultra HD titles that we know to be on the way from our studio, retail, and industry sources. So let’s get right to it (and note that we’ll include Amazon pre-order links if available – just click on the title names in the text below)...
First up, Paramount has set Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar for release on 4K Ultra HD on 12/19. Pre-orders are now open on Amazon US at this link and we’ve got your exclusive first look at the final cover artwork to the left and below. Paramount is also expected to release Suburbicon and Annihilation in early 2018. All of their Transformers films are now available in 4K for release on 12/5, and there’s a Transformers: 5-Movie Collection available for pre-order in the UK. Finally, we’re hearing that Ridley Scott’s Gladiator is likely for early next year as well, probably sometime in March. [Read on here…]

Kino’s Trilogy of Terror Blu-ray, Transformers plus more new 4K pre-orders & Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, everyone! Today is just a quick update, as there’s not a lot of news to report and we know many of you have plans for the evening.
However, we’ve got a pair of new Blu-ray reviews for you to enjoy today, including Tim’s look at Scream Factory’s Dawn of the Dead (2004) and also Red Christmas from Artsploitation Films. Enjoy!
In announcement news today, Kino Lorber has revealed that they’re working on new Blu-ray and DVD editions of Dan Curtis’ Trilogy of Terror (1975) for release in 2018. The company has also set Cadillac Man (1991) for Blu-ray release on 1/2/18. [Read on here…]
Sony sets Across the Universe for 4K, plus Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok likely on 4K, Dracula (1931) live in SF, Stronger, Detroit & more
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just officially announced the 4K Ultra HD release of Julie Taymor’s Across the Universe on 1/9/18. The disc will include HDR10, Dolby Atmos audio, and the previous Blu-ray edition with all the previous special features. You can see the cover artwork at the left there.
Also on the 4K front, it’s beginning to look like Thor: Ragnarok will be Disney and Marvel’s next 4K Ultra HD release, due day and date with its Blu-ray and DVD counterparts in early 2018. We don’t have a street date yet, but a number of international retailers – including Zavvi – are already taking pre-orders on the title. We’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly. CBS & Showtime set Twin Peaks for BD/DVD in December, plus Stranger Things 2 & RIP Robert Guillaume
We’ve got three new reviews for you to enjoy here at The Bits today, including my own takes on Spider-Man: Homecoming in 4K Ultra HD from Marvel and Sony, Ron Howard’s Apollo 13 on 4K Ultra HD from Universal, and also Netflix’s Stranger Things: Season 1 on Blu-ray.
