Blu-ray News – Southpaw, South Park: Season 18, Trainwreck & Dope, plus Frank Zappa’s Roxy & more

More new announcements and updates for this afternoon...

Paramount has made South Park: The Complete Eighteenth Season official for 2-disc Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/6 (SRP $42.99 and $29.99). Extras are set to include deleted scenes, #SocialCommentary on all episodes and the usual “mini” commentaries on all the episodes by Trey Parker and Matt Stone.  [Read on here…]

Paramount has also set CBS’ Zoo: Season One for Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/1.

Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Company have announced the 10/27 Blu-ray and DVD release of Southpaw, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams (SRP $39.99 and $29.98). Note that the digital HD release is set for 10/16. The Blu-ray version will include deleted scenes and 3 featurettes (Southpaw: Inside the Ring, Q&A with the Cast, and an Extended Training Montage).

Anchor Bay has also set I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance is Mine for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/20.

Universal has officially announced the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck for Blu-ray, DVD, and digital release on 11/10. Both will include an unrated version of the film, plus deleted scenes, Line-o-Rama, and a gag reel. To this, the Blu-ray will add additional deleted and extended scenes, another gag reel, and 4 featurettes (Behind the Scenes, Directing Athletes: A Blood Sport, The Dogwalker, and Trainwreck Comedy Tour Featurette).

Universal has also set Dope for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/13, with the digital HD release due on 9/29. Extras will include 2 featurettes (Dope Is Different and Dope Music).

Meanwhile, Warner Home Video has set The Gallows for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/13.

Lionsgate will release The Vatican Tapes on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital on 10/20. They also have A Horse Tale coming to DVD on 11/17.

Alchemy has set Unexpected for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/29.

Eagle Rock Entertainment and Honker Home Video will release Frank Zappa’s never before released concert film Roxy: The Movie on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/30, featuring Frank Zappa and the Mothers. Each version will include an exclusive soundtrack.

FilmRise will release Gabriel Clarke and John McKenna’s Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/13.

Entertainment One has announced Matador: The Complete Series for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/13.

And Music Box Films has set Maison Close: Season Two for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/13.
