We’re closing out the week today with a pair of additional reviews. Tim has checked in with his Pick-Ups thoughts on Paramount’s Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse on Blu-ray and I’ve delivered my take on Sony’s new Ghostbusters release on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. I’ll tell you this much: If Ghostbusters is representative of what we can expect from other classic film releases on the format, I can’t wait for more. Do give them a look. [Read on here…]

All right, we’ve got a quick one for you today, but there’s good stuff ahead so do read on...
First up, we’ve got a trio of new Blu-ray reviews for you all to enjoy this afternoon. Jim has offered his thoughts on Twilight Time’s The Hawaiians (the 1970 sequel to Hawaii, which he’s also reviewed recently here at The Bits) and Delmer Daves’ 1958 Kings Go Forth. Both are worthy of your time and attention. Also, Tim finally got his hands on Disney’s new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray and had a thing or two to say about it as well. Do give his review a look. [Read on here…]

Well... I suppose you could call this Star Wars week, given Disney’s The Force Awakens arrives on Blu-ray tomorrow. I know that some of you have already received your copies in the mail – a few online retailers (including Target, Best Buy and Amazon) began shipping them to pre-order customers early. If you haven’t done so yet, you can pre-order a copy via Amazon here at this link. And of course, you can read our in-depth review of the Blu-ray here at The Bits. It’s a pretty good release – fine Blu-ray A/V quality and that documentary is a gem. I expect there will be more than a few people around the States who end up coming down with cases of “Force flu” this week to stay home and check it out. Here’s hoping you enjoy it as much as we did!
