Michael details the film’s original 70mm North American theatrical release and discusses its lasting impact and Tony Scott’s legacy with documentarian Charles de Lauzirika, producer of the excellent Danger Zone: The Making of Top Gun documentary from the 2004 Special Edition DVD (it’s also on the recent Blu-ray edition). In release news today, Paramount has officially set Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi for digital release on 5/24, followed by Blu-ray and DVD on 6/7. The Blu-ray will be a 3-disc set that includes the film itself on Disc One and a trio of documentary featurettes on Disc Two (including For the Record: Finding the Truth Amid the Noise, Uncovering Benghazi’s Secret Soldiers, and Preparing for Battle: Behind the Scenes of 13 Hours). Disc Three is a DVD version of the film. [Read on here…]
