And before the day is through, I expect to post my thoughts on HBO’s Chernobyl miniseries in 4K Ultra HD, which streets on 12/1. Tim and Dennis are also working on more new Blu-ray reviews. I’ll have more 4K reviews for you as well in the coming week. So keep your eyes peeled on my Twitter feed here, as that’s where you’ll get the first indications of what reviews are on the way from me next.
Now then, with the Thanksgiving holiday close at hand here in the States, and with Black Friday week sales already going strong online, there’s not a ton of release news to report today. So instead, I’m going to get right back to reviewing. Review copies of Warner’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit 4K sets could show up any time now, so I’m trying to get as many other reviews done as possible before that happens. Because once it does happen, I’ll be diving deep into the halls of Erebor and Moria to review those ASAP. And then I fully intend to marathon the entire six film Extended Middle-Earth experience for the holiday.
In the meantime, please don’t forget that Amazon is continuing its major Black Friday week sales on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD titles from Warner, Lionsgate, Sony, Universal, Paramount, and more. Tons of 4K titles are on sale for $8-17 each: Top Gun, Rambo, Dark Knight, etc. Click here or on the image below to start paging through them all. And don’t forget to keep checking these links—as we approach Black Friday, there are likely to be lots more daily and limited-time deals on Blu-ray and 4K titles too. (If you’d consider clicking through one of our links here at The Bits whenever you start shopping with Amazon this week, we’d surely appreciate it!)
Also, Zavvi is running holiday sales on Blu-ray, 4K, and Steelbook titles through next week. So be sure to click here to visit Zavvi US and here to visit Zavvi UK to take advantage of them. Specifically, Zavvi is running 2 for £30 4k Ultra HD deals (US link, UK link) and 3 for £30 4k Ultra HD deals (US link, UK link). Do give them a look.
And that’s all for now. Keep checking back here and on our social media feeds as we post more reviews throughout the week. If you’re traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, please be safe and take COVID precautions to protect your family and friends (not to mention yourself). And as always, stay tuned!
