We have three new disc reviews for you this afternoon, including...

Sam’s take on Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s Focus (2015) in 4K Ultra HD from Warner Bros.

Tim’s review of the new Scooby-Doo! and the Witch’s Ghost (1999) and Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders (2000) on Blu-ray from the Warner Archive Collection.

And Stuart’s thoughts on Sidney Lanfield’s You’ll Never Get Rich (1941) on Region B only Blu-ray from Powerhouse Films’ Indicator label in the UK.

As for release news, there’s not a ton of it to report today, however we do have a couple of fun items for you...

First, Paramount has officially set the animated Transformers One for release on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on 12/17, with the Digital release expected tomorrow on 10/22. Extras will include 5 behind-the-scenes featurettes (including In the Beginning, World Building on Cybertron, Together As One, The Iacon 5000, and The Battle for Cybertron). You can see the cover artwork below the break.

Speaking of Paramount, they along with CBS have set Blue Bloods: The Final Season and Blue Bloods: The Complete Series for DVD only release on 12/17 as well. Extras on the final season will include deleted scenes, 2 featurettes (The Story of the Reagans and May the Road Rise Up to Greet You), and a gag reel. [Read on here...]

FYI, the studio is also now taking pre-orders on Amazon for the TBA release of Parker Finn’s Smile 2 (2024) on 4K Ultra HD and 4K UHD Steelbook.

Meanwhile, Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui’s new Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story documentary will arrive on Digital on 11/1 from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. There’s no word yet about a disc release.

Shout! Studios has set Wade Allain-Marcus’ remake Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (2024) for Digital only release on 11/19.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Peter R. Hunt’s Shout at the Devil (1976) for Blu-ray release on 12/17. They’ve also announced that Elliott Nugent’s The Great Gatsby (1949) is coming soon to Blu-ray, and that Todd Durham’s Hyperspace (1984) is coming soon to Blu-ray 3D featuring a new restoration by our friends at the 3-D Film Archive. The latter will also include Durham’s The Fright Before Christmas (1984) short film in 3D.

And finally, here’s something kind of awesome and hilarious all at once: Disney and 20th Century Studios are going to release Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus (2024) as a limited-edition VHS videotape on 12/3! This is in addition to the previously announced home video SKUs (Blu-ray, DVD, 4K), which are due that same day. The packaging will feature original artwork by the terrific Matt Ferguson. The aspect ratio is 4x3, with English stereo audio. We don’t know how many of these will be available, but I suspect they’ll go quickly just for fun. You can see the cover artwork above left.

And here are those Transformers One SKUs, with Amazon pre-order links…
