All right, today’s Hell Plaza Oktoberfest review for the day from Dr. Jahnke is none other than Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers on Blu-ray from the Halloween: The Complete Collection box set. Watch for more reviews all next week.
The big announcement news today is that Disney has officially set Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy for Blu-ray 3D Combo, Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 12/9, with a digital release on 11/18. Extras on the Blu-ray versions are still vague based on the studio’s press release, but will include deleted scenes, audio commentary with the filmmakers, a number of “making of” featurettes, a gag reel, and an exclusive look at Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Also today, Disney and Touchstone have set Lasse Hallström’s The Hundred-Foot Journey for Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/2. Extras on the Blu-ray will include 4 featurettes (The Hundred-Foot Journey with Steven Spielberg & Oprah Winfrey, The Recipe, The Ingredients, The Journey, On Set with Oprah Winfrey, and Coconut Chicken). Again, you’ll find the Blu-ray artwork below.
Meanwhile, Magnolia will release Frontera on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/4, starring Eva Longoria and Ed Harris.
And Lionsgate will release Lifetime’s The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story on DVD on 11/4.
