Warner Home Video has set The Killing Fields for release on Blu-ray Disc on 1/7, in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary. The Blu-ray Book release (SRP ($27.98) will include audio commentary with director Roland Joffé and the film’s theatrical trailer.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced the 11/26 Blu-ray Disc release of Breaking Bad: The Complete Series. All 62 episodes will be included with all of the previous special features from the individual seasons (some 55 hours worth in all – including features previously available only as retailer exclusives). You’ll also get a brand new 2-hour documentary, “a Los Pollos Hermanos apron and a collectible booklet with a letter from Gilligan, as well as a commemorative Breaking Bad challenge coin designed and created by Gilligan exclusively for this set.” All of this will come packaged in a replica of one of the barrels seen on the show. Meanwhile, PBS has set an expanded edition of American Masters: Jimi Hendrix – Hear My Train a Comin’ for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/5, the same day as the PBS broadcast. The album Jimi Hendrix Experience: Miami Pop Festival will also be released on limited edition CD and vinyl that day.
Also on the music front, Eagle Rock Entertainment has set Peter Gabriel: Live in Athens 1987 for Blu-ray Combo release on 9/17. Not only does it include the complete classic concert performance in remastered high-definition and lossless audio, it also includes the Peter Gabriel: Play DVD as a bonus.
Finally today, Lionsgate has set Boy Meets World: The Complete Collection (SRP $99.98) and Saved by the Bell: The Complete Collection (SRP $49.98) for DVD only release on 11/5.
