In announcement news today, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Vikings: Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/6 (SRP $59.99 and $29.96). Fox is also releasing a new Home Alone: 25th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition on 10/6 (SRP $69.99) that comes in a replica paint bucket and includes swag. New single-film regular Blu-ray editions of Home Alone and its sequels will also be available that day (SRP $19.99 each).
Warner Home Video has set Magic Mike XXL for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/6 (SRP $44.95 and $28.98). Extras will include a pair of featurettes and an extended dance scene.
The BBC Home Entertainment has set the Sherlock: 2015 Christmas Special for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/12/2016 (SRP $29.99 and $22.99). The BBC will also release The Doctor Who: Christmas Specials Gift Set on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/24 (SRP $57.98 and $50.82), Enchanted Kingdom on Blu-ray 3D Combo on 11/10 (SRP $24.98), and Doctor Who: Series 9, Part 1 on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/3 (SRP $29.98 and $24.98).
Meanwhile, Acorn Media will release Agatha Christie’s Partners in Crime on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/5/2016 (SRP $39.99 each). They also have Doc Martin: Series 7 due for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/8 (SRP $39.99 each).
Anchor Bay and Starz have set Black Sails: The Complete Second Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/3 (SRP $59.99 and $49.98). Extras will include 5 featurettes.
Lionsgate has set She’s Funny That Way and Some Kind of Beautiful for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/3 (SRP $19.99 and $19.98). The studio also has Showtime’s Nurse Jackie: Season Seven coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/20 (SRP $29.97 and $29.98).
PBS will release Masterpiece: Downton Abbey – Season 6 on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/26/2016 (SRP $59.99 and $49.99). They also have Masterpiece: Worricker – The Complete Series coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/3 (SRP $49.99 and $39.99).
Universal has set We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story (1993) for Blu-ray release on 11/17 (SRP $14.98).
GKids will release Zarafa on Blu-ray and DVD on 11/10 (SRP $29.95 and $19.97).
In other news today, and speaking of Max Mad: Fury Road, Tim wanted to let you all know that the El Rey Network is airing a new episode of The Director’s Chair with George Miller (as interviewed by Robert Rodriguez) this Sunday, August 30th. It should be worth your time if you’re a fan of the film.
