All right, 300 and the Resident Evil 4K releases are now official with details, so we’ll get to those in a moment...

First, Tim has turned in his thoughts on Dwight H. Little’s Bloodstone (1988), now on Blu-ray from our friends at Arrow Video.

And Dennis has given a Something Weird/Kino Classics title a look on Blu-ray too, a double feature of Sam Newell’s She Should’a Said No! and W. Merle Connell’s The Devil’s Sleep, each released originally back in 1949.

They’re all a hoot, so do give them a look.

Now then, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has issued its press release, making Zack Snyder’s 300 official for 4K Ultra HD on 10/6. [Read on here...]

The title will include more than 3 hours of special features, including audio commentary with director/co-writer Zack Snyder, co-writer Kurt Johnstad, and director of photography Larry Fong on both the 4K and Blu-ray discs.

You’ll also get Deleted Scenes with introduction by Zack Snyder, 6 featurettes (The 300: Fact or Fiction, Who Were the Spartans?: The Warriors of 300, Preparing for Battle: The Original Test Footage, The Frank Miller Tapes, Making of 300, and Making 300 in Images), and 12 Webisode featurettes (including Production Design, Wardrobe, Stunt Work, Lena Headey, Adapting the Graphic Novel, Gerard Butler, Rodrigo Santoro, Training the Actors, Culture of the Sparta City/State, A Glimpse from the Set: Making 300, Scene Studies from 300, and Fantastic Characters of 300).

Audio and subtitles will be English, French, and Spanish, with HDR10 high dynamic range, and a new Dolby Atmos sound mix. You can see the cover artwork again down below.

Also today, Sony has made The Resident Evil 4K Collection official for release on 11/3, also with HDR10 high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos audio mixes, along with the original DTS-HD MA 5.1 theatrical audio tracks (DTS-HD MA 7.1 for The Final Chapter). Note that comes straight from the press release.

In addition, the collection “will include Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (both the original theatrical version and an extended cut), Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Retribution, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter as well as hours of bonus content across all six films, including rare archival featurettes that have been previously unavailable on disc.”

Specifically, the Blu-rays will all carry over the previous special features. The 4K Ultra HD discs will add the following new features: Theatrical Trailer (Resident Evil), Theatrical Trailers, Theatrical and Extended Cuts in 4K (Apocalypse), Theatrical Trailers, Resident Road Map: Reflections on the Future of the Series (Extinction), Theatrical Trailers, Alice Activated (Afterlife), Theatrical Trailers, Evil Goes Global, and Undead Retribution (Retribution), and Theatrical Trailers, Maximum Carnage: Best Kills, and Creature Chronology (The Final Chapter). Whew! All right, we’ve got one more rumor we’ve been digging into here at The Bits this week and I hope to have an update on that here tomorrow.

There MAY (read: WILL) also be another Zavvi-exclusive 4K Ultra HD Steelbook launching first thing in the morning, so you might want to check back for that then (at roughly the same time we posted The Last Jedi links).

That’s all for now! Stay tuned...
