And in other news today, we’re thrilled to present you with an exclusive clip from the terrific new 4-part documentary series Greatest Geek Year Ever! 1982, which premieres Saturday, July 8th at 8 PM (Pacific) on The CW (and repeats on Tuesday, July 11th with additional episodes premiering every Saturday through August). Produced by Mark A. Altman, Roger Lay, Jr., Scott Mantz, and Thomas Vitale. The series takes a look back at what is arguably the greatest year in pop culture cinema history, 1982, which brought us such classic films as E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Blade Runner, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Poltergeist, Tron, Rocky III, and many more. The series features interviews with tons of familiar actors, directors, writers, producers, and pop culture historians sharing their insights. And I’m honored to appear among them!
Here’s an exclusive clip from the first episode, in which I—along with our old friend Robert Meyer Burnett, visual effects artist Bill George, actors Dee Wallace and John Cryer, and others look back at the experience of seeing Steven Spielberg’s E.T. in the summer of ‘82...
I think you’ll really enjoy the complete 4-episode series, so be sure to check it out. And here’s the poster art…
All right, we’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for a few of the Blu-ray and 4K titles mentioned above and more, with Amazon pre-order links if available...
