In announcement news today, Paramount has just officially set 10 Cloverfield Lane for Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 6/14, with the Digital HD release due on 5/31. The Blu-ray version will include audio commentary by director Dan Trachtenberg and producer J.J. Abrams, as well as 30-minutes worth of behind-the-scenes footage. If you buy the combo, for a limited time you’ll also get a Digital HD copy of the original Cloverfield. You can see the cover artwork to the left and below (with the Amazon.com pre-order link). For those of you wondering why there’s no 4K release, our information is that Paramount’s 4K releases of Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (due on 6/14) are being used to test consumer interest in the format. Based on sales of those two titles, the studio will evaluate further releases on the format going forward.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has just set The Divergent Series: Allegiant for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD format on 7/12, with a Digital HD release due on 6/21. Extras on the Blu-ray and 4K versions will include audio commentary with producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, and 6 featurettes (Allegiant: Book to Film, Battle in the Bullfrog: The Stunts and Choreography Behind This Thrilling Sequence, Finding the Future: Effects & Technology, Characters in Conflict: The Motivations Behind the Film’s Antagonists, The Next Chapter: Cast & Characters, and Building the Bureau). What’s more, The Divergent Series: Divergent and The Divergent Series: Insurgent (which are already available on Blu-ray and DVD) will also be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format on 7/12.
