We’ve got one new disc review up here at The Bits today, while we continue our ongoing work to update the website behind-the-scenes...

Tim has posted a look at Random Space Media’s Spider-Man 2-Movie Collection in 4K Ultra HD, which includes Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: Homecoming in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D all in the same package.

But we’ve got a bunch of release news for you today, including a major new title announcement: Sony has just officially set Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 6/14, with the Digital release expected on 5/17.

The 4K disc will include Dolby Atmos audio, while the Blu-ray will feature 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Both discs will also include outtakes and bloopers, “Nocturnal” Easter eggs, and no less than 5 behind-the-scenes featurettes (among them Defining the Antihero, From Human to Vampire: Visual Effects, Lights, Camera, Action, The Good, Bad & Ugly: Supporting Cast Doing the Stunt Work, and Living Vampire from Comics to Screen). You can see the cover artwork for the 4K and Blu-ray below. [Read on here...]

Also today, Shout! Factory and Scream have just revealed their full July release slate, which includes some titles we’ve been expecting for a while, a fun surprise or two, and no less than six 4K Ultra HD titles!

Let’s start with that fun surprise: Shout! will release The Six Million Dollar Man: The Complete Series on Blu-ray on 7/12 (SRP $189.98). The set will include all 99 episode, 3 pilot films, 3 reunion films, and the bonus crossover episodes of The Bionic Woman.

Also coming on 7/12 is the anime Pompo the Cinephile (2021) on Blu-ray and DVD (for GKids), a Shout! Select Blu-ray of Garry Marshall’s Georgia Rule (2007), and a DVD only release of Patrick Gilles’ I’m Charlie Walker (2022).

Following on 7/19 are Moustapha Akkad’s The Message (1976) and Lion of the Desert (1980) on 4K Ultra HD, which we’ve been expecting for a while now here at The Bits, along with Oliver Stone’s JFK Revisited: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray (which includes the documentaries JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass and JFK: Destiny Betrayed—a signed poster is also available exclusively through the Shout! website), and Paul Schrader’s Cat People: Collector’s Edition (1982) in 4K Ultra HD (a release that was delayed from its originally scheduled 6/28 street date).

Then on 7/26, look for Starhunter ReduX: The Complete Series on Blu-ray (a 10-disc set with all 44 episodes featuring expanded footage, updated VFX, and the originally intended 16x9 aspect ratio), along with that Species: Collector’s Edition in 4K Ultra HD we mentioned the other day, as well as Collector’s Editions of Dog Soldiers and The Funhouse in 4K Ultra HD (both delayed from their originally scheduled 6/14 ad 6/21 street dates).

You can see the cover artwork for many of these titles below and our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits has been updated accordingly.

Also, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set Iris K. Shim’s Umma (2022) for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/23, with the Digital release expected on 5/10.

Flicker Alley, Lobster Films, and the Blackhawk Films Collection are releasing a new restoration of H.P. Carver’s The Silent Enemy (1930) on 7/1. Extras will include a choice of two musical scores (one by Siegfried Friedrich and another by the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra), an audio interview with producer W. Douglas Burden, and an image gallery.

And for you music fans, the MVD Entertainment Group is releasing the Silva Screen Music Group/Renoir Pictures documentary The Beatles and India: An Enduring Love Affair on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/21.

We’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for several of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...
