Since CBS has already disbanded their Star Trek remastering team, however, don’t expect that sales of these sets will make DS9: Remastered more likely. That starship has, unfortunately, already sailed.
Also today, Video ETA is suggesting that Paramount’s Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan – Director’s Cut (which we first revealed in our story here at The Bits a couple weeks ago) will arrive on Blu-ray on 6/7 (SRP $21.99). See this link. Do keep in mind that the release hasn’t yet been officially announced by the studio. Thanks to Bits reader Tim H. for the heads-up.
Finally today, since this is April Fool’s Day, here’s something cute: Fox has changed the Amazon.com product shots on all SKUs of their forthcoming home video release of Deadpool to... well... you can see it above left there (and on Amazon here). I bet a lot of people would actually consider buying Deadpool on VHS just for the joke value of it!
Speaking of Fox (and this is no joke), we’ve confirmed that the studio will be releasing its forthcoming Eddie the Eagle on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray day and date with regular Blu-ray and DVD (street date TBA).
Don’t forget that Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens streets on Blu-ray on Tuesday, and it’s available Digitally today. Be sure to check out our in-depth review of the Blu-ray right here at The Bits – it’s worth it! (And click on the artwork below to pre-order your copy)...
All right, y’all have a great weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday! Peace out...
