In 4K Ultra HD news today, Lionsgate has officially announced James Mangold’s 3:10 to Yuma for release on the format on 5/2 (SRP $22.99). Audio will be available on the title in DTS-X format. Extras will include audio commentary with Mangold, the Destination 3:10 to Yuma and Sea to Shining Sea documentaries, 5 featurettes (Outlaws, Gangs, and Posses, An Epic Explored, 3:10 to Score, A Conversation with Elmore Leonard, and The Guns of Yuma), deleted scenes, and a pair of Blu-ray only features (Historical Timeline of the West and Inside Yuma: An Exclusive Blu-ray Disc Interactive Experience). Lionsgate is also going to release the original The Expendables and The Expendables 2 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format on 5/2 as well. SRP will be $22.99 each and the discs will include sound in English Dolby Atmos on the 4K discs and English 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio on the included BDs. The Expendables will include audio commentary with director Sylvester Stallone, the From the Ashes: Post Production documentary, the Inferno: The Making of The Expendables featurette, video of the Comic-Con 2010 Panel, a gag reel, a deleted scene, and a Marketing Archive (on the Blu-ray only). The Expendables 2 will include audio commentary with director Simon West, 4 featurettes (Gods of War: Assembling Earth’s Mightiest Antiheroes, Big Guns, Bigger Heroes: The 1980s and the Rise of the Action Film, On the Assault: The Real-Life Weaponry of The Expendables 2, and Guns for Hire: The Real Expendables), deleted scenes, and a gag reel.
Not done with 4K news yet: We have cover artwork and an Amazon.co.uk pre-order link for Sony’s 6/5 U.K. release of Danny Boyle’s T2: Trainspotting 2 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. You can see that below.
Also, Universal has officially set The Mummy Ultimate Trilogy for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release on 5/16 (SRP $79.98). The set will include The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. You can see the artwork for the individual films below (and we’ve linked all three to the pre-order listing for The Ultimate Trilogy 4K on Amazon.com. It appears that the films are initially only going to be available in a set (but we don’t have the cover art yet for the box). You may recall that we first mentioned these titles were coming here at The Bits last week.
In regular Blu-ray news, speaking of Universal, the studio is also officially releasing the Dracula: Complete Legacy Collection on Blu-ray on 5/16 (SRP $39.98 – pre-order it here on Amazon). The set will include Dracula (1931), Dracula’s Daughter, Son of Dracula, House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula, and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Also coming that day is The Mummy: Complete Legacy Collection (SRP $39.98 – pre-order it here on Amazon). That set will include The Mummy (1932), The Mummy’s Hand, The Mummy’s Tomb, The Mummy’s Ghost, The Mummy’s Curse, and Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy.
Paramount has just officially set Martin Scorsese’s Silence for release on Blu-ray Combo pack and DVD on 3/28, with a Digital HD release due on 3/14. Extras will include the Martin Scorsese’s Journey into Silence featurette.
And Kino Lorber has set the 12-chapter serial Daredevils of the Red Circle (1939) for Blu-ray release on 4/25.
