All right, Disney has just officially announced the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of Rob Marshall’s Mary Poppins Returns on 3/19, with their Digital 4K and Movies Anywhere release set for a week earlier on 3/12. There will apparently also be a “Digital Bundle” of the film with the original 1964 Mary Poppins (we don’t know what resolution that original film will be). Audio on the Blu-rays will be English 7.1 DTS-HD MA. Assume standard HDR10 at least on the physical 4K (the digital 4K may offer Dolby Vision).

In terms of extras, the Blu-rays will include the deleted song The Anthropomorphic Zoo, the 4-part The Practically Perfect Making of Mary Poppins Returns documentary (includes Introduction, (Underneath the) Lovely London Sky, Can You Imagine That?, and Nowhere to Go But Up), the 4-part Seeing Things From a Different Point of View: The Musical Numbers of Mary Poppins Returns documentary (includes Trip a Little Light Fantastic, The Royal Doulton Music Hall/A Cover Is Not the Book, Turning Turtle, and Can You Imagine That?), Back to Cherry Tree Lane: Dick Van Dyke Returns, Practically Perfect Bloopers, 3 deleted scenes (Leaving Topsy’s and Trip a Little Light Fantastic), and a Sing-Along Mode. The Digital version only will also feature exclusive audio commentary by director Rob Marshall and producer John DeLuca.

Also newly announced is the Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital release of Adam McKay’s Vice from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Look for the discs on 4/2, with the Digital release due on 3/12. The Blu-ray and DVD will feature 3 deleted scenes, 2 featurettes (Gaming the System: The Making of Vice and The Music of Power), and a photo gallery. You’ll also find the cover artwork below.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the Oscar nominated foreign film Capernaum on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 3/26.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set Gotham: The Complete Fifth Season and Gotham: The Complete Series for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 6/11. Season Five will include Gotham Season 5: Best Moments at NY Comic Con 2018, Modern Mythology, and deleted scenes. SRP for Season Five is $29.98, with the Complete Series coming in at $112.99.

Our friends at the Warner Archive Collection have announced that Man from Atlantis (1977), Cleopatra Jones (1973), and The Glass Bottom Boat (1966) are all coming to Blu-ray in the coming weeks.

And Well Go USA has set Dan Tondowski’s Accident for release on Blu-ray on 3/19.

Meanwhile, Scream Factory has confirmed the 3/26 Blu-ray release of director Robert Wise’s The Body Snatcher (1945). Mastered from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, the disc includes the new You’ll Never Get Rid of Me: Resurrecting The Body Snatcher featurette, audio commentary (with director Robert Wise and writer/film historian Steve Haberman), the Shadows in the Dark: The Val Lewton Legacy documentary, and still galleries.

And Shout! Factory has confirmed the extras you’ll find on their 3/19 release of the Born in East L.A.: Collector’s Edition. Look for a new audio commentary by director/writer/star Cheech Marin, new interviews with Cheech Marin, Kamala Lopez, and Paul Rodriguez, an extended TV cut of the film in standard definition, a gallery, production notes, and the trailer.

Here at The Bits today, we’ve also got four new reviews for you to check out, including Tim’s look at the Double Dragon: Special Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray from MVD and Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume VIII on DVD from Shout!
