A Ghost Story, Captain Underpants, Misery: CE, Voyage of Time, Wonder Woman & more

We’re kicking things off today with a brand new View from the Cheap Seats column from our own Bud Elder, who is a genuine walking treasure in his native Oklahoma and everywhere he goes too as far as we’re concerned. This time, he weighs in on Laugh-In, Pink Panther & More Recent Classic Blu-ray/DVD Releases… plus Busey (as in Gary Busey). Bud’s columns are always worth a read, and this one is no different, so do give it a look.

Also today, Tim has turned in two more new Blu-ray reviews, looking at Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Pulse (2001) from Arrow Video and the Warlock Collection from Lionsgate via their fine Vestron Video Collector’s Series. Enjoy!

Now then... Lionsgate has just announced that they’ll release David Lowery’s A Ghost Story on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/3. The film stars Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara.

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Homeland: The Complete Sixth Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 9/6.

20th Century Fox and Dreamworks Animation will release Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 9/12.

Scream Factory has just posted an update about their forthcoming Misery: Collector’s Edition, which was announced on the panel at Comic-Con. The disc will street on 11/28. Bonus features will be announced soon, but the disc will feature a new 4K film transfer and will have a new interview with director Rob Reiner. You can see the cover artwork to the left (above) and also below.

A number of you have asked about the possibility of Terrence Malick’s recent IMAX film, Voyage of Time, being released on the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD formats. It’s distributed by Broadgreen Pictures and we’ve contacted them for an update. Meanwhile, it looks like it’s already set for Blu-ray release in France (on 9/13) and Japan (on 8/2). You can see the Japanese Blu-ray cover artwork below (and we’re linking to the CD Japan pre-order page – remember, Japan is the same region as the U.S. and their disc will feature English audio – price is about $43 USD).– price is about $43 USD). If we hear anything back from Broadgreen we’ll let you know.

We mentioned the other day that Lionsgate’s Terminator 2 4K Ultra HD release is now available for preview on Amazon.com. Well, so too is their EndoArm Limited Edition version. You can see that here (and pre-order it by clicking on the artwork)...

Finally, it looks as if Warner is going to be releasing a Limited Edition Blu-ray 3D Combo version of their soon-to-be-announced Wonder Woman that comes packed with a statuette. You can see that here...

The Wonder Woman art we show below is the U.K. version, but the links are to Amazon U.S. – we’ll update it with final U.S. artwork when the title is officially announced...
