Also today Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that they’re working on Blu-ray and DVD releases of the Bob Hope comedies The Cat and the Canary (1939) and The Ghost Breakers (1940) on 9/15, The Cary Grant Collection (includes Ladies Should Listen (1934), Wedding Present (1936), and Big Brown Eyes (1936) on Blu-ray) on 9/8, a pair of Michael J. Fox films including Herbert Ross’s The Secret of My Success (1987) and John Badham’s The Hard Way (1991) in October, and Frank Darabont’s Buried Alive (1990) TBA for later this fall.
Finally today, a heads-up: The Criterion Channel has just kicked off a great 24-film series that looks at the Czechoslovak New Wave of the 1960s. If you’re a cinephile, it should be well worth exploring. You’ll find the details here!
