More disc reviews are forthcoming all this week, so be sure to keep checking back.

In announcement news today, it appears that Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is releasing Barry Levinson’s Sleepers (1996) in 4K Ultra HD and 4K Steelbook in the coming months. The film stars Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Bruno Kirby, Jason Patric, Brad Pitt, Brad Renfro, and Minnie Driver.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release James Vanderbilt’s Nuremberg (2025) on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/10. No 4K is currently planned. Sony has also set Hikari’s Rental Family (2025) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/17. And don’t forget that they’ve listed Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon (2025) for Blu-ray and DVD on 1/23. Paramount will release Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man (2025) on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K, and 4K Steelbook on 3/3. They also have the animated The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 3/31.

Paramount and Showtime have also set Dexter: Resurrection – The Complete First Season for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/17.

And Paramount and CBS will release Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season Three on Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook on 3/3.

Also today, StudioCanal UK has set David Lynch’s The Straight Story (1999) for 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on 2/9.

Speaking of which, today would have been the director’s 80th birthday, and Criterion is celebrating by offering 30% off all of Lynch’s titles in the Collection.

Also for UK fans, Kevin Smith’s Dogma: 25th Anniversary Edition is coming to Blu-ray and 4K across the Pond from Visions Home Video on 2/2.

Here’s something interesting: Brian Gibson’s Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986) is coming to 4K Ultra HD Mediabook from Wicked Vision in Germany. That’s an MGM title now distributed by Alliance Entertainment, so it’s a good bet that a new US 4K from Alliance is forthcoming later this year as well (in addition to the 2024 4K release already available from Shout!/Scream).

Speaking of which, we just did an in-depth breakdown of which MGM films are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and which are owned by Amazon MGM Studios over on our Digital Bits Patreon page. It’s one of many such pieces we’ve posted there for our subscribers, so please do consider joining us if you’re interested! We try to provide good value for our subscribers, and it helps us to keep The Bits going too.

Back to more US release news… Neon will release Osgood Perkins’ Keeper (2025) in DVD and 4K UHD on 2/3.

Our friends at Imprint have revealed two new Imprint Television Blu-ray releases for 3/25, which include The New Avengers: The Complete Series (1976-77) and TV Movie of the Week: Collection 4—with Contract on Cherry Street (1977), To Kill a Cop (1978), and Cocaine and Blue Eyes (1983), plus a bonus film in SD: A Killing Affair (1977).

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that Ernest Dickerson’s Bulletproof (1996) is coming soon to 4K Ultra HD. Coming soon to Blu-ray is Jean Aurel’s Manon 70 (1968).

And on 3/31, look for Al Ruban’s The Sexploiters/Raw Love (1965) and Malfeasance: Four Films by Yves Boisset—which includes Angel’s Leap (1971), Mad Enough to Kill (1975), The Woman Cop (1980), and Rise Up, Spy (1982)—both on Blu-ray.

Severin Films will release a standard 4K edition of Jake West’s Razor Blade Smile (1998) on 3/31.

Universal is reissuing the Jurassic Park/World films in 4K Ultra HD on 3/17 as 4K + Blu-ray single film SKUs each with Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Well Go USA has set Travis Mills’ Frontier Crucible (2025) for 4K Ultra HD release on 2/17.

Here’s a nice surprise for music fans: After releasing Adrian Maben’s remastered Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii – MCMLXXII (1972) on Blu-ray last year, Legacy Recordings has decided to release the concert film on 4K Ultra HD as well on 3/3. I hope some of you held off buying the Blu-ray to wait for it!

And Cult Epics has set Tinto Brass’ The Key (1983) for 4K release on 3/24.

Finally, in other industry news today, Netflix has agreed to modify its bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery to an all-cash offer (instead of a combination of cash and stock) to fend off Paramount’s bid. You can read more here at Variety. WBD shareholders will vote on the deal in April.

That’s all for now. Stay tuned!
