A release news update with Kino, Arrow, Scream, Shout! Factory, the Warner Archive & more

All right, let’s start the week with some more release news…

Kino Lorber has just announced the 3/20 Blu-ray and DVD release of No Orchids for Miss Blandish (1948) as part of its Studio Classics line. Kino is also releasing a double feature Blu-ray of Mike Binder films on 2/27, including Crossing the Bridge and Indian Summer. The company will also release James Cruze’s Covered Wagon (1923) on Blu-ray on 2/20. This is widely considered to be the first Western epic. And on 3/13, look for them to release Revenge of the Cheerleaders (1976) on DVD only for Code Red.

MVD has set The Return of the Swamp Thing for release on Blu-ray on 5/8. The set will include both Blu-ray and DVD in one package. [Read on here…]

Also coming on Blu-ray on 5/8 from Full Moon Entertainment are Puppet Master: The Legacy and The Creeps.

Scream Factory has added Daughters of Satan to its 4/24 Blu-ray slate, this following their planned 4/10 BD release of Crucible of Horror, Full Moon High, and Superbeast.

Shout! Factory has also added Basmati Blues, starring Brie Larson, for Blu-ray release on 4/3.

Arrow Academy has set G.W. Pabst’s L’Atlantide (1921) for Blu-ray release on 4/24 as well. They also have Sleeping Dogs (1977) coming on Blu-ray on 4/17.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Viz Media have set Hiroyuki Seshita’s Blame! anime film for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 3/27. The film debuted last year on Netflix. 

The Warner Archive is releasing Harper and The Drowning Pool, both starring Paul Newman, on Blu-ray on 2/27. They also have Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III coming on Blu-ray on 2/13.

VCI Entertainment has set The Twilight People for release on Blu-ray on 3/13.

Hannover House has set Alison Eastwood’s Battlecreek for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/6.

Scorpion Releasing has set Where the Boys Are ’84 on Blu-ray on 2/6.

And Indicator has just released Charlie Varrick, Blue Collar, The Border, and The Fortune on Blu-ray in the UK.
