All right, it’s a slow news day, given the Veterans Day holiday here in the States. And may I just take a moment to tip my hat at Veterans everywhere? Thank you all.

Now then... we’ve just a couple bits of release news to report today...

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing Freaks of Nature on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/9/2016.  [Read on here…]

Arrow Video has set American Horror Project: Volume 1 for Blu-ray release on 3/8. SRP is $99.95. This will be a 6-disc Special Edition. The set will include a sampling of Grindhouse horror from the 1970s, including Christopher Speeth’s Malatesta's Carnival of Blood (1973), Matt Cimber’s The Witch Who Came from the Sea (1976), and Robert Allen Schnitzer’s The Premonition (1976). Each will feature new 2K restorations and lots of extras (TBA).

VCI is releasing Bob Clark’s Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things on Blu-ray on 2/23. They also have The Giant Spider Invasion due on BD on 2/2.

Lionsgate will release Extraction on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/23.

Alchemy and Millennium have set Frankenstein and Moonwalkers for Blu-ray release on 2/23 as well, along with Hangman on 2/9. Alchemy is also releasing Howl on 1/12.

Cinedigm is releasing The Keeping Room on Blu-ray on 2/2.

And Major League Baseball is releasing the Kansas City Royals 2015: World Series Collection on 12/8.

Meanwhile, we have a look at the other three of Sony’s new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray titles (they aren't available for pre-order yet, but here’s what the packaging looks like)…

Chappie (4K UHD BD)    The Smurfs 2 (4K UHD BD)    Hancock (4K UHD BD)
