And Paramount is adding two more 4K-remastered Eddie Murphy comedies to their Paramount Presents Blu-ray line-up on 12/1 as well: Trading Places and The Golden Child.
Both Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America will include all of the previous Blu-ray extras. The same is true of Trading Places and The Golden Child, except they’ll also add the following new features:
- Trading Places – Filmmaker Focus with John Landis
- The Golden Child – The Making of The Golden Child
All will include Digital Copies. And all four films will be available in 4K digitally. You can see the cover artwork above left and also below. Our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits has been updated accordingly.
Speaking of Paramount (and DreamWorks), a retail listing for Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous in UHD came up briefly on Amazon UK before it was taken down, so it seems likely that the title is planned for release in the months ahead. 2020 marks the film’s 20th anniversary, so it makes sense.
Still not done with Paramount today though...
Fans of Star Trek: Picard may be thrilled to learn that the first season of the CBS All Access streaming series is coming to Blu-ray on 10/6 in both regular and Steelbook packaging. The 3-disc set will include all 10 episodes of the show’s first season, along with 2 hours worth of extras. Those extras include Star Trek: Short Takes: Children of Mars, Story Logs, Deleted Scenes, Aliens Alive: The xBs, Picard Props, Set Me Up, a Gag Reel, and more.
Also today, Classic Flix has set the Marx Bros. comedy A Night in Casablanca for release on Blu-ray on 12/15.
Lionsgate has set Friendsgiving for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/27.
Universal will release Save Yourselves! on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 10/6.
And RLJE Films will release NOS4A2: Season 2 on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/20.
Finally today, we need to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of the great concept artist, cartoonist, and designer Ron Cobb, whose work was critical in crafting the visual look of such films as Alien, Back to the Future, Star Wars, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Conan the Barbarian, The Abyss, The Last Starfighter, and so many more. He was 83. You can read more about him here at The Hollywood Reporter and here at The Guardian.
We’ll leave you today with a look at the cover artwork for some of the titles mentioned above, nearly all of which are now available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking on the covers...
That’s all for now. Stay tuned!
