On a related note, it looks as if Disney and Amazon may have finally come to some sort of agreement in their long contract negotiation skirmish. A number of Disney titles are starting to come back up for pre-order on Amazon including Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Complete First Season (due 9/9).
In release news today, Warner Home Video has officially set Jersey Boys for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/11 (SRP $35.99 and $28.98). Extras will include 2 featurettes (From Broadway to the Big Screen and Too Good to Be True), along with “Oh, What A Night” to Remember.
Universal has set The Purge: Anarchy for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/21.
Lionsgate has officially set The Avengers: Season 5 for Blu-ray release on 11/11 (SRP $29.99). This includes all 25 episodes of the show’s first color season, featuring Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg. Rest assured, they will be presented in 1080p HD but in the correct 1.33:1 TV aspect ratio, with English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. See the cover artwork below.
On DVD only, Lionsgate has set The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story and Little House on the Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas (also on Digital HD) for release on 11/4, followed by Duck Dynasty: Duck the Halls on 11/11.
PBS has set a new Downton Abbey: Seasons 1-4 box set for Blu-ray and DVD release on 10/21 (SRP $109.99 and $99.99).
The Cohen Film Collection has set Claude Chabrol’s Nightcap (a.k.a. Merci Pour le Chocolat) for Blu-ray and DVD release on 9/30 (SRP $39.98 and $29.98).
Wolfe Video will release the romantic drama Tru Love on DVD on 11/4 with digital versions due on 10/7.
Finally today, there’s apparently an audio sync issue of some kind that affects the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and The Missing Pieces in CBS’s Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery Blu-ray set. CBS is currently investigating. We’ll update you all further when CBS updates us.
