You’ll get 109 episodes remastered from the original film elements, including both Batman: The Animates Series (85 episodes) and The New Batman Adventures (24 episodes), plus both Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Mr. Freeze SubZero. The package will include an all-new documentary New Heart of the Batman, behind-the-scenes featurettes, select audio commentaries, a set of postcards, exclusive packaging with a deluxe art book, and 3 Funko Pops (of Batman, the Joker, and Harley Quinn). We expect to have final cover artwork soon in high quality.
Here’s what it looks like (picture from the Warner Archive panel via Dark Knight News)…
Both seasons will also be available for streaming in HD on the new DC Universe streaming service this fall.
Not done with Warner Archive yet… we also learned this weekend that the company has begun work on the Blu-ray release of Hanna Barbera’s original animated Jonny Quest. Look for that to street sometime late next year or early 2020. If Warner Archive is taking requests, we’d love to see the original Flesicher Studios Superman serials in HD too.
All right, now on to Shout! and Scream…
As you know, I had the honor of hosting the company’s Breaking News from Shout! Factory and Scream Factory panel at Comic-Con on Friday night. Here’s a picture of our panelists just before the event, revved and ready to announce a bunch of great titles. L to R: Jeff Nelson, Shout! Factory’s Senior Marketing Director; yours truly; and Brian Ward, Senior Director of Video Production & Digital Media. (Thanks to John Latchem of Media Play News for taking the pic).
We had a great panel with a terrific crowd in attendence. The first thing I should note here is that Shout! video-recorded the entire thing and I’m told it will probably be streamed on the Shout! Factort website in the next week or so. The second thing I should note is that we announced nearly THIRTY new titles at the event – no kidding! In the event you missed it, here’s the full list…

Not bad, right? That’s an amazing list of titles. you should know that Shout! has already gotten Steve Martin and Carl Reiner to do sit-down interviews for The Jerk. The other thing to know is that they’re working to determine what they can add to (or create) for Dances with Wolves that will truly make it the ultimate edition.
All of the details on these titles are TBA, but that’s a terrific list – the best the companies have ever announced at the Con. It was a pleasure to be a part of it all.
Okay, that’s all for the moment. We’ll be back with more soon.
Stay tuned...
