Here’s something kind of cool: Warner Home Video is releasing last year’s NBC TV special Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/20 (SRP $19.98 and $14.98). It features the voice talents of Jim Parsons, Mark Hamill, Kate Micucci, and Ed Asner. The only extra will be the Elf-in’ All The Way: Inside Buddy’s Recording Sessions featurette.
Paramount has set The Affair: Season One for DVD only release on 8/4 (SRP $39.98).
Here’s something I’m pleased to see: FilmRise is releasing Showtime’s complete documentary series Years of Living Dangerously on Blu-ray Disc on 7/21. Previously, it had been available only on DVD.
Olive Films will release The Last American Virgin (1982), The Babysitter (1995), Daniel (1983), The Sender (1982), The Singing Detective (2003), and Student Bodies (1981) on Blu-ray on 8/25.
Section 23 will release Space Brothers: Collection Four on Blu-ray on 8/4, followed by Space Brothers: Collection Five on Blu-ray on 10/20.
And Kino Lorber has announced that Joseph M. Newman’s Fort Massacre (1958) and The Gunfight at Dodge City (1959) are coming soon to Blu-ray. Also coming soon to both Blu-ray and DVD are Andre de Toth’s Pitfall (1948), Peter Yates’ The House of Carroll Street (1988), Lewis Allen’s A Bullet for Joey (1955), and Robert Florey’s The Crooked Way (1949). And coming soon on DVD only, look for Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985) for the first time in anamorphic widescreen. (The Blu-ray version will eventually be available from Twilight Time.)
That’s all for now. Stay tuned!
