Now then, let’s get to that release news...
The big news today is that Twilight Time has announced their May titles, which will include Fate Is the Hunter (1964 – with To Whom it May Concern: Ka Shen’s Journey – 2010), Thunderbirds Are Go (1966 – which also includes Thunderbird 6 – 1968), Two Rode Together (1961), Rollerball (1975), and The Firm (2009). Look for those all on 5/13. You can see the cover artwork below.
In addition, Twilight’s June slate is currently set to include The Mechanic (1972), The Train (1964), Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison (1957), Resurrected (1989), and The Man from Laramie (1955) all on 6/10. What’s more, Twilight has revealed on their Facebook page that July will see the release of Save Your Legs! (2012), Radio Days (1987), Brannigan (1975), Violent Saturday (1955), and Born Yesterday (1950) all on 7/8, and that August will include Follow That Dream (1962), The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969), Riff Raff (1991 – with Raining Stones – 1993), and The Buddy Holly Story (1978) all on 8/12.
Entertainment One will release Rookie Blue: The Complete Fourth Season and Between Sisters on DVD on 5/6, followed by The First World War: The Complete Series, The Dating Guy: The Complete First Season and The Abbot and Costello Show: The Complete Second Season on 5/20, and Could This Be Love on 5/27.
Shout! Factory will release Prisoners of War: Season One on DVD on 7/8.
TDC Entertainment has the documentary Unacceptable Levels on DVD only on 6/10.
PBS Distribution will release Pioneers of Television: Season Four and The Kennedys: Triumph and Tragedy on DVD on 5/27.
CBS Entertainment (via Paramount) will release Laverne & Shirley: The Eighth and Final Season on DVD on 5/6, followed by Happy Days: The Fifth Season on 5/20.
And 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Teen Wolf: Season 3, Part 2 for DVD release on 6/17. Fox has also announced a ton of new Amazon.com-exclusive TV DVD titles as follows: Look for American Dad!: Volume 9, Last Man Standing: The Complete First Season, Last Man Standing: The Complete Second Season, Bob’s Burgers: The Complete Third Season, Louie: The Complete Season 3, and The New Normal: The Complete First Season all on 5/13, followed by The Killing: Season 3 and The Glades: Season 4 on DVD on 6/3, and Wilfred: The Complete Third Season on DVD on 6/17.
Finally today, completely unrelated to anything Blu-ray or DVD, but if you’re a space enthusiast, Elon Musk’s SpaceX is going to attempt another Dragon/Falcon launch to the International Space Station in a couple hours, and you can watch it live here. They’re going to attempt to fly the Falcon booster first stage back to Earth with fins and soft land it in the ocean. Should be neat to see. Also, tonight in most of North and South America there’s a total lunar eclipse visible, which is always pretty cool to see. Click here and here for all the details and viewing times in your area.
