Speaking of a Paramount title, we’ve confirmed with our friends at Via Vision Entertainment that their forthcoming line-up of Impact Films limited edition Blu-ray titles will NOT be region locked. That means War of the Worlds (1953), The Duellists (1977), Waterloo (1970), Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), and I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958). So pre-order them here while you can.
Meanwhile, our friends at Shout! Factory and Scream Factory have just announced the Universal Horror Collection: Volume 5 Blu-ray box set, which will include The Monster and the Girl (1941), Captive Wild Woman (1943), Jungle Woman (1944), and Jungle Captive (1945). I think I sense a theme here. Look for it to street on 6/16.
Lionsgate will release Guns Akimbo on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 4/28.
Finally today, we have word from retail sources that Disney will be bringing the classic animated Mulan (1998) to 4K Ultra HD when its new live action Mulan film arrives on home video. We’ve added it to our 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly.
And before we go (circling back to Paramount again), our own Dennis Seuling has posted a review of the studio’s new Digibook Blu-ray re-issue of The Ten Commandments, which includes both the 1923 and 1956 films, plus extras. You’ll find that here.
Here’s a look at the open packaging for the new Paramount Presents line-up...
That’s all for now. Stay tuned...
