Meanwhile, our very own Dr. Adam Jahnke has added a new feature to his Jahnke’s Electric Theatre column here at The Bits called An Honor to Be Nominated. In title announcements today, the big news is that Criterion has announced their April slate of Dual Format (BD/DVD) releases. As always, there’s much to celebrate. First up is a Dual Format upgrade of François Truffaut’ The 400 Blows (Cat #5 – BD/DVD – the previous version was just BD only) due on 4/8. Then on 4/15, we get Lars von Trier’s Breaking the Waves (Cat #705 – BD/DVD). That’s followed by Don Siegel’s Riot in Cell Block 11 (Cat #704 – BD/DVD) and Carl Theodor Dreyer’s Master of the House (Cat #706 – BD/DVD). Finally, Dino Risi’s Il Sorpasso (Cat #707 – BD/DVD) rounds out the line-up on 4/29. You can see some of the cover art below.

Also today, Universal has updated their announcement of the release of Dallas Buyer’s Club on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/4, with word that the title will include deleted scenes and the A Look Inside Dallas Buyers Club featurette.

Universal has also announced the Blu-ray Combo and DVD release of Homefront on 3/11.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has announced the release of a new Chicago: Diamond Edition on 2/11. It features 1080p video remastered using the Dolby Vision process for improved colors and dynamic range, along with an all-new Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack. Extras will include the all-new Chicago in the Spotlight retrospective documentary, audio commentary with director Rob Marshall and writer Bill Condon, the deleted musical number Class and the From Stage to Screen: The History of Chicago featurette. SRP is just $14.99.

And Timeless Media Group will release The Red Skelton Show: The Lost Episodes on DVD on 2/11.

Here’s the cover art for Lionsgate’s Chicago: Diamond Edition, along with Criterion’s The 400 Blows and Breaking the Waves (all are available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking on the covers)...
