Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set the documentary The Armstrong Lie for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/11. Extras will include director’s commentary, Q&A and deleted scenes.
The BBC has now officially set Sherlock: Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 2/11 (SRP $39.98 and $29.98). In addition to all three episodes of the season, you’ll get a trio of featurettes (The Fall, Fans, Villains & Speculation: The Legacy of Sherlock Holmes, and Shooting Sherlock).
The BBC also has Earthflight coming on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/8, as well as Ripper Street: Season Two on both formats on 4/15.
It appears that PBS has set Masterpiece: Mr. Selfridge – Season 2 for Blu-ray and DVD on 5/20.
Shout! Factory will release the 4-disc Mystery Science Theater 3000: XXIX box set on DVD on 3/25, including the episodes Untamed Youth, Hercules and the Captive Women, The Thing That Couldn’t Die and The Pumaman (all previously unreleased). Extras will include new interviews, the original version of The Pumaman, featurettes, new introductions by Joel Hodsgon, trailers and 4 exclusive mini-posters by Steve Vance.
EOne Entertainment will release the drama Diana on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/11, staring Naomi Watts as Princess Diana.
Grindhouse Releasing has set The Swimmer (1968) for Blu-ray/DVD Combo release on 3/11. The film stars Burt Lancaster.
RLJ/Image Entertainment will release The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/11.
Cinedigm will release the comedy Afternoon Delight on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/11.
Lionsgate has set Hours for DVD only release on 3/4 – this is one of actor Paul Walker’s last films, about a father trying to protect his family in the midst of Hurricane Katrina. Lionsgate has also set House of Versace for DVD only release on 2/4, followed by Kingdom of Conquerors on DVD on 3/18, and Warrior Assassin on DVD on 4/1.
Shout! Factory has also set The Practice: The Final Season on 4/15 as a 6-disc DVD set.
StarVista and Time Life have set Mama’s Family: The Complete Third Season for DVD release on 2/25.
MHZ Networks has set Borgen: Season Three, Dolmen: The Complete Series and Sebastian Bergman: Volume One for DVD release on 1/21.
XLrator Media will deliver Banshee Chapter on DVD on 2/4. The film was produced by Zachary Quinto and the people behind Margin Call.
Any of you into psycho-clown horror films? Eagle One Media has Splash Area: Night of the Freaks coming on DVD only on 1/21.
Ketchup Entertainment has set the spoof The Starving Games for DVD on 1/21 as well.
Finally today, If any of you guys live in NYC, Milestone Film & Video and Martin Scorsese’s The Film Foundation are presenting a screening series called Masterpieces of Polish Cinema throughout the month of February at Lincoln Center. The series will screen 21 films in all, including Andrzej Wajda’s Man of Iron, Krzysztof Zanussi’s Camouflage and classics by Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Andrzej Munk and more.
