All right, we’re back as promised with a couple more bits of release news...

First, MPI Home Video has announced the first-ever DVD release of My Favorite Martian: The Complete Collection on 10/20 (SRP $99.98). The set will include all 107 uncut episodes with “hours of special features.” You can see the cover artwork below.  [Read on here…]

Also on the TV front, CBS and Paramount have just announced the DVD only re-release of Dexter: The Complete Series on 10/13, including all 96 episodes on 32 discs. Whereas the original DVD release had an SRP of just $199.99, this version comes in streamlined packaging for just $99.98.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just announced the 12/8 Blu-ray release of Frank Capra’s Best Picture-winning You Can’t Take It With You (1938)! The classic film has been restored and remastered in 4K. The set will come in Digipack packaging, featuring a 24-page booklet with an essay by film historian Jeremy Arnold. The disc will also include audio commentary by Frank Capra Jr. and author Cathrine Kellison, the Frank Capra, Jr. Remembers: You Can’t Take It With You featurette, and the film’s original theatrical trailer.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has set The Guardsman and Zero Tolerance for DVD and digital release on 12/1.

The Cohen Film Collection will release In the Courtyard on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/6.

And finally, BBC Entertainment has just released Doctor Who: Dark Water/Death in Heaven for Blu-ray 3D Combo release (on 9/22, SRP $19.98). This is the 2-part season finale that was recently shown in theaters in 3D. Extras include an exclusive Season Nine prequel scene (The Doctor’s Meditation), and a 45-minute interview with stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, hosted by Wil Wheaton.

One last note: Our own Russell Hammond has posted the weekly update of the Release Dates & Artwork section as usual with all the latest Blu-ray and DVD cover artwork and Amazon.com pre-order links. As always, a portion of anything you order from Amazon after clicking through to them from our links goes to help support our work here at The Bits and we really appreciate it!
