All right, we have a few new reviews for you today...

Tim has checked in with his looks at Shout! Factory’s Road House: Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray and Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume V on DVD, as well as Vinegar Syndrome’s Nurse Sherri, and Severin Films’ Blackenstein, classics of the grindhouse and blaxploitation genres respectively, both newly released on Blu-ray.

Also, I’ve posted a review of Lionsgate’s Power Rangers on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. You may or may not be a fan of the film, but the disc features reference quality full 4K video (with Dolby Vision HDR) and Dolby Atmos audio. It also has an epic 140-minute making of documentary produced by our old friend Cliff Stephenson. It’s well worth a look if you’re a fan of the 4K format. And I’m working on more 4K reviews this afternoon, so watch for those to be posted tonight and tomorrow here on The Bits. [Read on here…]

In announcement news today, we have a couple good things for you...

First of all, Lucasfilm and Disney have just set Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Three for Blu-ray and DVD release on 8/29. The set is available for pre-order on Amazon here and you can see the cover artwork to the left and below. The set will include all 22 episodes, along with 5 audio commentaries (featuring Dave Filoni, Justin Ridge, Kilian Plunkett, Keith Kellogg, and Joel Aron), 19 Rebels Recon featurettes, the A Rebel Alliance featurette looking ahead to Season Four, and 4 Blu-ray exclusive featurettes (Return to Mandalore , Thrawn: A Legend Reborn, Apprentices to Outcasts: Kenobi and Maul, and The Original Rebel: Saw Gerrera Returns – Extended).

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword for release on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 8/8. The film stars Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law. Audio on the 4K release will include Dolby Atmos. Extras will include these featurettes (Arthur with Swagger, Sword from the Stone, Parry and Bleed, and Building on the Past). You can see the cover artwork below and the title is now available for pre-order and Amazon by clicking here or on the cover art.

Speaking of Warner Bros. 4K pre-orders, you can also now pre-order the newly announced Blade Runner: The Final Cut 4K Ultra HD release here or by clicking on the cover artwork below. It’s due to street on 9/5.

We’ve got one more bit of Warner news for you today: The studio has just announced the DC Universe Original Movies: 10th Anniversary Collection Blu-ray box set, due to street on 11/7 (No SRP is yet available). This 32-disc box will include all 30 current DC Universe Original animated films, plus 5 animated shorts, newly-produced extras, and collectible (aka: swag) items. The complete list of films includes:

  • Superman: Doomsday
  • Justice League: The New Frontier
  • Batman: Gotham Knight
  • Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition
  • Green Lantern: First Flight
  • Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
  • Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
  • Batman: Under the Red Hood
  • Superman/Batman: Apocalypse
  • All-Star Superman
  • Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
  • Batman: Year One
  • Justice League: Doom
  • Superman vs. The Elite
  • The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1
  • The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2
  • Superman: Unbound
  • Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox
  • Justice League: War
  • Son of Batman
  • Batman: Assault on Arkham
  • Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
  • Batman vs. Robin
  • Justice League: Gods and Monsters
  • Batman: Bad Blood
  • Justice League vs. Teen Titans
  • Batman: The Killing Joke
  • Justice League Dark
  • Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
  • Batman and Harley Quinn

All of which is impressive, but the Blu-ray set we’d really like to see released by Warner is Batman: The Animated Series. In any case, you can see the box art below (and we’ll add the Amazon pre-order links when it goes live).

Also today, Lionsgate has set Grey Lady for DVD only release on 6/27.

Finally, while we’re talking Lionsgate, it’s come to our attention that a few early copies of the studio’s Wishmaster Collection: Vestron Video Collector’s Series Blu-ray (see our review here) included the original Wishmaster with 2.0 audio instead of 5.1. If that’s true of your set, e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for customer service. They’ll send you back a reply explaining how you can get your Wishmaster disc swapped for the correct version with 5.1 audio. Thanks to Bits reader Andrew H. for the heads-up!

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for some of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available. Remember, any time you order literally anything from Amazon after clicking to them through one of our links, you’re helping to support our work here at The Bits and we really do appreciate it...
