We have just a quick update for you today here at The Bits with some interesting release news, plus a few odds and ends related to titles we’ve learned from our industry sources are likely forthcoming in the months ahead.

First of all, the big news: Paramount has officially set Peter Weir’s The Truman Show (1998) for 4K Ultra HD release on 7/4 in honor of the film’s 25th anniversary. The disc is mastered from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative approved by the director and it will feature Dolby Vision HDR, as well as a new Dolby Atmos sound mix.

Extras will include the previous legacy features, among them the 2-part How’s It Going to End? The Making of The Truman Show documentary, the Faux Finishing: The Visual Effects of The Truman Show featurette, deleted scenes, a photo gallery, theatrical trailers, and TV spots. You can see the cover artwork at left and also below. [Read on here...]

Warner Bros. has announced a pair of new TV DVD sets for release on 6/13, including Mayberry R.F.D.: The Complete Series and Night Court: The Complete Series. These are DVD only.

We’ve also got a tentative street date for Warner’s long-anticipated 4K Ultra HD release of Robert Clouse’s Enter the Dragon (1973). Look for it on 8/8.

And we have a tentative street date of 6/27 for Warner’s Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise (2023) which is now in theaters.

Meanwhile, Universal has set Parenthood: The Complete Series for Blu-ray release on 6/13. You can see the cover art below.

Our retailer sources are telling us to expect Universal to release George Lucas’ American Graffiti (1973) on 4K Ultra HD as well on 8/29.

Also today, Blue Underground has revealed the cover artwork for their forthcoming 4K Ultra HD release of Jess Franco’s The Girl from Rio (1969). You can see that below. Street date is still TBA for later this year.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics has set Andrei Konchalovsky’s Duet for One (1986) for Blu-ray release on 6/27.

And finally, some of you may have noticed that CBS’ 4K Ultra HD pre-orders for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season One have disappeared from Amazon. We suspect this is due to the fact that the studio may have underestimated demand for the title and that they’re working to replicate more product for the 5/16 street date. But we’ll post an update when and if we learn more.

We’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for The Truman Show, Parenthood, and The Girl from Rio (the first two titles are now available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking on the art)...
