Okay, we’ve got a couple things for you today, but the overall update is going to a quick one today. My wife was in a car accident yesterday – she’s okay, but our car was rear-ended and sustained some pretty good damage, so real life calls today with significant demands on my time.

Meanwhile, though, the good Dr. Jahnke has turned in his weekly Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD column for this week with some good news about a great new catalog Blu-ray release from The Warner Archive, as well as additional DVD product from Warner Archive and the 20th Century Fox Cinema Archives. Don’t miss it! [Read on here...]

Burnt Offerings For April 23, 2014

Sorry this column is appearing a little later than usual this week. But I would be remiss in my duties as The Bits’ official chronicler of Manufactured-On-Demand titles if I didn’t chime in on this week’s offerings. There are a few very intriguing discs this week, so head over to Ye Olde Warner Shoppe Dot Com (via yon banner) for Warner Archive’s titles and Amazon’s Wonder Emporium for your Fox desires. El Doogan has turned in a new Gripe Soda with his weekly Doogan’s Queue column running down the highlights of this week’s Blu-ray and DVD release schedule. Do check it out.

Also today, Warner Home Video has announced another Blu-ray version of Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music, specifically a new 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Revisited box set on 7/29 (SRP $39.96) that includes everything from the previous (but apparently not truly) Ultimate Collector’s Edition and adds new and unseen concert footage from Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez, Santana, The Who, and more, as well as new swag (including a reproduction of the original Woodstock Festival tickets and vintage articles from Life Magazine and The New York Times).
