Warner’s 12 Strong and Universal & GKids’ Mary and the Witch’s Flower arrive on Blu-ray on 5/1

The big news today is that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has set 12 Strong for release on Blu-ray Combo and DVD on 5/1, with the Digital release expected on 4/10. Extras on the Blu-ray will include a pair of featurettes (12 Strong: The Making of an Impossible Mission and Monumental Effort: Building America’s Response Monument). It does not appear that a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release is forthcoming, though the studio notes that the film will be available digitally in 4K on 4/10.

Also good news: Universal Studios Home Entertainment and GKids are releasing the anime Mary and the Witch’s Flower on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/1. The film was directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty and When Marnie Was There), formerly of Studio Ghibli. Extras will include the Film Completion Press Conference, a Theatrical Promotional Movie, an interview with the filmmakers, the NTV special Creating Mary and the Witches Flower, and A Special Conversation... Sekai No Owari: Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Yoshaiki Nishimura. [Read on here...]

Universal has also set Den of Thieves for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/24, with the Digital release expected on 4/10.

Shout! Factory has announced the 4K Ultra HD release of Dream Big and National Parks Adventure on 6/12. They also have Peyton Place: Part Four coming to DVD on 6/26, along with One Day at a Time: Season Three on DVD on 6/12. Shout! will also release A Breed Apart (1984) and Survive! (1976) on Blu-ray on 6/26, with Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn (2012) following on 6/19, Body of Evidence (1993) on 6/12, and Freak Show (2018) and the GKids anime Satellite Girl and Milk Cow (2014) on 6/5.

Meanwhile, Scream Factory has set Alien Predators (1987) for Blu-ray release on 6/19, with The Curse of the Cat People (1944) and Ninja III: The Domination (1984) on 6/12, and Devil’s Gate (2018), The Midnight Man (2018), and Night of the Lepus (1972) on 6/5.

And for you UK readers, Fabulous Films will be releasing the classic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series on Blu-ray on 4/8 in Complete Series and individual Season One and Season Two packages. We don’t yet know if these will be region locked or not.

Don’t forget that Warner Archive is releasing the animated Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub Zero on Blu-ray on 3/27. You can pre-order it on Amazon by clicking on the cover artwork below.
